Instead, bats belong to the mammal family. Although they may not be related to rodents- they are closely related to humans and primates!

White-nose syndrome or WNS is a disease that has decimated bat populations in the US & Canada. One of the fatal parts of this disease is that it effects the bats during their hibernation periods. Bats who are awoken in winter, awake to freezing temperatures and no food available. This disease is highly contagious.
Bats can see on top of using high frequency echolocation! So, here's a little trick of the trade for you. When we're in an attic and we spook bats, they start to fly all around us! & Here's the trick- Don't move! Bats know where you are. It's when you start flailing about, that one will get caught up on an arm or in your hair. They know where you are and they want nothing to do with you! So slow, steady movements.
