A skunk can spray as far as 12 to 15 feet! Skunks like to eat mice, toads, frogs, snakes, bugs, grass and nuts.. amoung other things.
Rabies was first documented in Rhode Island in 1994 and is now endemic throughout the state. Skunks can be carriers of this disease.
Skunks love to dig, burrow and create dens.. sometimes where they shouldn't. Places like your deck or shed can be ideal territory for a skunk family! You may also notice notches or holes in your grass where the skunk has been digging up grubs and roots.
