Moles of Southern New England

Southern New England is home to the  the hairy-tailed moles, star-nosed moles and eastern moles.

Facts about moles?

Moles are carnivores who like to eat worms, grubs and bugs. They also are the culprit who leaves large piles of dirt in your yard followed by seemingly endless tunnels. They are velvety and look like they have no eyes. The home range of one male Eastern Moles is 2.7 acres!

Voles of Southern New England

Here in Southern New England, we have the the Meadow vole and the Pine vole.

What is a vole?

Voles look more similar to mice than they do to moles. Unlike moles, voles are herbivores. Moles are often the culprit when it comes to tree, shrub and garden damage.  

What we can do
